Restaurants
Being a city resort there's a host of different cultures represented in Eilat so you can eat Italian, Japanese, French or Lebanese should you wish.
As you might expect, restaurants are concentrated in hotels and along the beachfront promenade and there's plenty of choice, including the usual international fast food chains.
Make sure you try falafels and kebabs (known locally as shwarma)- the delicious Israeli street snacks you'll find everywhere served with salad and pita bread or chips.
Vegetarians have an easy time in Israel - because in the Kosher diet meat and diary products must be eaten separately, they need only look for a 'dairy restaurant' to know they'll be getting a meat-free meal.
A great setting can be as important as the food itself and many hotels have romantic outdoor dining along the sea front, while for something really different, try the Red Sea Star restaurant where you eat under the sea!
