Glass bottomed boat tours
To get the diving experience without so much as getting your feet wet, take to the waters off Eilat in a glass bottomed boat.
These vessels, which leave from the marina, spend about two hours cruising the calm waters between the Jordanian and Egyptian borders. You can kick back on the sun deck, perhaps with a beer or a coffee from the snack bar, and enjoy panoramic views of Eilat from the sea.
The boats come in close past Dolphin Reef so you can catch the creatures' somersaulting antics. The highlight however is the slow cruise along Eilat's Coral Beach Nature Reserve viewed from the observatory underneath the boat. Visibility is great in Eilat's waters so you can see huge coral in a variety of shapes, watch predators on the prowl and shoals of bright fish darting for cover.
This glass-bottomed trek is a perfect way for smaller children and non-swimmers to enjoy the reef. Watersports like paragliding can be combining with some tours, with a speedboat picking you up from the glass-bottomed vessel and whisking you off for your activity.
Glass bottomed boat tours leave from Eilat's marina.
